About Us

Many of them were freedom fighters. The institution is named after the great local man, said Gurudas Banerjee — the name of energy may not be very familiar to the present generation. Still, he was a familiar man of the Bengal Renaissance. He was a man of many talents; on the one hand, he was the Judge of the Calcutta High Court, and at the same time, he was the first Indian to be the vice-chancellor of Calcutta University. Road, station, and college situated in Kolkata in his name. This year marks the centenary of his birth.
